Action & Adventure

I served as a reporter for KOLR 10 for almost four years. During my time here, I got to really step out of my comfort zone and experiment with the camera. I'm so grateful for the opportunities I had here to cover a lot of adventurous stories.

Packages & Reports

I usually work the night shift but I've filled in for every shift during my time here. I've reported in the early morning newscasts at 4:30 A.M., 5:00 A.M., and 6:00 A.M. I usually report in the 5:00 P.M., 6:00 P.M., 6:30 P.M., 9:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. newscasts. It was here at KOLR 10 where I was the first in the nation to interview the victim who lost nine family members during the Table Rock Lake duck boat accident, Tia Coleman.

Weather

Living in the middle of the U.S.A., I've seen a lot of dramatic weather here. I've been in the freezing cold of -30°C and reported live while my face was burned from the ice. I also reported in heavy snow, winds, and during the summers, extreme heat.

Digital, Social Media & Web

For longer, investigative stories with a lot of moving parts and information, I enjoy putting together the stories for digital content without the constraints of on-air time. Here are a couple of examples.

Animals

I worked with animals quite a bit during my time here at KOLR 10! Besides dogs and cats, I also reported on stories that included rabbits, cows, goats, and even giraffes!

National Interest

I reported on a few stories that picked up national interest. For example, the duck boat accident that caused a woman losing nine members of her family. Another story that made national headlines was this COVID-19 pandemic story that I gathered at the dropzone!

COVID-19

Just like everybody else in the world, I had to adapt to a totally new way of life due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some pictures that show how I managed to report during a time of masking and social distancing. The picture on the right was where I was asked to simulate a completely work-from-home day. I took advantage of being comfy in my PJ pants that day!

Station Sports

I always participate in station sports! When I was a part of our station's basketball team, my co-workers called me "Linsanity." I may not be physically the strongest, but I am an extreme athlete so I'm hoping you would want me on your team!

Reporter Life

Here is a collection some pictures of my life as a reporter at KATU. I had so many new experiences here and I learned so much from others, I won't forget it.
